Established in 1891, St. Joseph's has been serving the Community for over a 100 years.  St. Joseph's Catholic Church was opened as a response to segregation in the Jim Crow South.  Black and Creole residents of Pensacola were not able to attend St. Michael's Catholic Church.

The result allowed St. Joseph's to bring resources to the entire community, by providing a hospital and maternity ward, school and education, & the spirit of giving back to the community of Pensacola.

St. Joseph continues to forge a path of community with efforts such as "Our Lady of Angels" Medical Clinic, along with other community initiatives.
